Innovative and Tech Savvy Engineers come forth, if you haven’t already heard Engineering the Future, the Future of Making Things, BIM For Infrastructure and BIM MEP AUS are coming up this October. FutureNet is hosting the Innovation: Engineering the Future- Transforming Today event this October. After captivating the crowd last year with his humorous and engaging session “Lessons from an Intrepreneur”, Professor Andrew Harris, Director of Laing O’Rourke’s engineering and innovation consultancy, is back. Professor Harris will present “Engineering the Future – Transforming Today.”

Joining him will be Ian Hardcastle, Digital Engineering Technical Director, Jacobs. Ian’s session will delve into the challenge of deploying transformational technology on major NSW and Australian projects today and discussing what the future may look like for our industry. FutureNet has been helping young professionals who work in the built and natural environment develop the valuable networks and non-technical skills that are essential to success in today’s competitive marketplace. It aims to develop and grow links with other professional bodies, industry groups and academia to ensure young professionals attending our events are informed of up-to-date issues, ensuring they are on the cutting edge of their industry.

The Future of Making things Roadshow is hosting Autodesk’s Manufacturing experts  who will be covering the current Manufacturing Environment, specifically IOT and Additive Manufacturing, and how the changes in Design Technology can help with workflows and efficiency. BIM For Infrastructure addresses the Design and Architectural; Construction and Infrastructure industries and how they fit with BIM alongside the legal perspective. From time and cost saving asset management and other benefits of BIM to on-going challenges, the contractual integration of BIM and the best ways to implement it whilst simultaneously minimising legal risks.
