After defining your Styles and Standards in your Inventor document (using the Styles Editor, or after making changes to your Materials or Appearances), you will have 2 choices to commit or remove changes:

  1. Your style library will need to match the new document (commit the changes), or
  2. Your document will need to match your style library (remove the changes).

In the ‘Manage’ tab, there is an Update button next to Styles Editor. Here, you can update your document styles (local) from the styles library.

Otherwise, you can Purge the mismatched styles from your document (local) by using the ‘Purge’ styles tool. This will remove the local changes you have made to the document.

You also can Save the document styles (local) to the styles library if you want those styles to be available to other documents using the same library.

Once you are satisfied, under the Inventor Application button > Save As > Save Copy As Template so that your future documents are consistent with one another.
