We’ve captured some amazing new technologies and gizmos on display at Autodesk University!

Here are the highlights:

Autodesk ReCap Robot: Is the future of Reality Capture destined to be automated? Here is an example of Autodesk ReCap, in conjunction with a FARO laser scanner and a robot.

Vicon Motion Tracking: See motion tracking hardware by Vicon, which can also be operated via a hand control device for movement through a scene, such as in a building.

Reality Capture and ReCap Photo – Arizona Memorial Project: How reality capture was used to document a heritage site. It’s impressive to note that a lot of the captures were done using nothing more than photos and run through Autodesk ReCap Photo.

The Development of SimCity – Simulating the Future: An overview on the process and thoughts behind how Maxis created the latest version of SimCity.

Autodesk CEO Carl Bass on Manufacturing and Machining: Hear about the future of manufacturing and machining from Carl’s unique perspective.

Hands-on Display of 3D Printed Materials: 3D printed elements using different materials.

3D Printing in Action: A follow up on the previous video on 3D printed materials; here we look at 3D printing in action.

Touch Table for Medical Education: Various parts of the body can be examined using this highly intuitive interface.

Local Motors, Las Vegas – Tour: Local Motors are a custom built vehicle manufacturer in Las Vegas, and are users of the Autodesk Product Design Suite. This is a tour of their facility.
